<p>In a wireless communication system including a number of base stations (102, 104, 106) for serving mobile stations (108) present in the system, the position of a mobile station during a voice call in progress is determined by performing time or angle measurements using a positioning signal between the mobile station and a required number of the base stations. Means (138, 152) are provided for detecting voice activity in the voice call in progress, and further means (111, 138, 152, 142) are provided for voice synchronizing the transmission of the positioning signal with a part of the voice call in progress having low or lacking voice activity.</p> |
