<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a simple and economic method for directly manufacturing black and colored toner compositions having superior dispersibility of a colorant and narrow particle diameter distribution by mixing a latex-emulsified liquid and a colorant-dispersed liquid and a monocationic salt and specifying the ionic strength. SOLUTION: The toner is manufactured by mixing the latex-emulsified liquid and the colorant-dispersed liquid and a monocationic salt and cooling them, if necessary, and adjusting its ionic strength to about 0.001 - about 5 mol, and adding, preferably, a sodium sulfonated polyester resin having a particle diameter of a bout 5 - about 500 nm to the latex, and adding a monocationic salt solution to a mixture of the latex and the colorant and cooling it. The latex- emulsified liquid contains the polyester resin, such as poly(1,2-propylene-sodium 5-sulfoisophthalate), and the salt is sodium chloride, sodium bromide, potassium bromide, or potassium chloride.</p> |
