PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the highly accurate operation of an occupant protecting device for an opposite vehicle while making effective use of inter-vehicle communications by transmitting specified data regarding own vehicle via a transmitting section when a possibility of clashing of own vehicle as an information providing side is large based on the determining result of a determination section. SOLUTION: This device controls an occupant protecting device while making effective use of inter-vehicle communications between a vehicle B as an information providing side and a vehicle A as an information, receiving side. In the vehicle B as the information providing side, a determination section determines a possibility of clashing for own vehicle B, and a control unit performs control for transmitting specified data (d) regarding the vehicle B via a transmitting section when the possibility of clashing is large based on the determining result of the determination section. In the opposite vehicle A, since the operation content of the occupant protecting device is changed according to the received specified data (d), the highly accurate operation of the occupant protecting device such as an air bag, pretensioner or the like is secured. |
