A dual LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to control the light beam as two steps through the two-layered liquid crystal array structure and to intercept effectively the light beam emitted from a backlight unit, thereby reducing the off-set brightness. A first liquid crystal panel(110) comprises the first upper polarizing filter, a color filter, the first common electrode, the first liquid crystal layer and the first pixel electrode. The second liquid crystal panel(120) comprises the second upper polarizing filter, the second common electrode, the second liquid crystal layer, the second pixel electrode and the second lower polarizing filter. A control member(140) controls the first and second liquid crystal panels so that the first and second liquid crystal panels have the brightness corresponding to the inputted image data. The dual LCD also comprises a bonding layer for boding the first and second liquid crystal panels. A backlight unit offers the light beam to the first and second liquid crystal panels. The light beam from the backlight unit is transmitted to the lower liquid crystal panel, advanced toward the bonding layer and reached to a light source located at the upper liquid crystal panel. |
