PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition in which a fire retardant does not bleed in molding and in which heat deformation temperature, heat resistance and mechanical properties are not reduced by making the composition contain a fire retardant resin in which a phosphazene fire retardant is linked to a polymer molecule of a polyester-based resin through the ester group. SOLUTION: A composition contains 100 pts.wt. of a polyester-based resin such as polycarbonate and polyethylene terephthalate, 0.1-100 pts.wt. of a phosphazene-based fire retardant of formula I such as cyclic or linear phosphazene compounds and 10<-5> -10 wt.% of a catalyst for transesterification such as zinc chloride based on the fire retardant. This composition is fused and kneaded at the fusion temperature of the polyester-based resin to transesterify an ester-linking portion in or at the terminal of the polymer molecule to bond the fire retardant to the polymer molecule. In the formula, X and Y are each O, S, NR<3> or the like; R<3> is 1-4C alkyl; R<1> and R<2> are each a group of formula II or III; R<4> , R<6> and R<7> are each H or 1-4C alkyl; R<5> is 1-4C alkyl; m is 1-10; and n is 3-25 or the like. |
