PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely lock a pedal stroke simulator in supplying a fluid pressure from a master cylinder to a wheel brake and to avoid high pressure in the pedal stroke simulator due to the temperature rise. SOLUTION: A pedal stroke simulator 16 is disposed inside a master cylinder 17. A fluid chamber 16B of the pedal stroke simulator 16 is connected through a normally-closed opening and closing solenoid valve 20 to a brake fluid reservoir 14. A passage 16D is provided which connects the fluid chamber 16B with the brake fluid reservoir 14 when a piston 16C of the pedal stroke simulator 16 is positioned to its return position while shielding the connection of the fluid chamber 16B and the brake fluid reservoir 14 when the piston 16C advances from the return position, thereby releasing the pressure of the fluid chamber 16B. When the pedal stroke is to be generated, a solenoid valve 20 is opened. |
