PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject inhibitor water-soluble and readily usable, and excellent in safety and stability by including a water-soluble tyrosinase inhibiting material extracted from a mulberry leaf as an active component. SOLUTION: This tyrosinase inhibitor is obtained by using preferably water added with a 1-3C primary alcohol e.g. a mixture of water with an alcohol in a weight ratio of (20/80)-(70/30)} as an extracting solvent and extracting a mulberry leaf (e.g. a leaf of Moraceae nigra, Morus alba L., etc., belonging to family Moraceae), and collecting a water-soluble component having a tyrosinase inhibiting action from the resultant extracted solution. Preferably, a mixing ratio of the inhibitor is about 0.01-5 wt.% reduced to a standard extract of a mulberry leaf (water-soluble fraction) in the case of a general cosmetic. |
