PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent trouble of electric scrap melting furnace with gas burner by detecting water leak from a water-cooled copper jacket in the early stage. SOLUTION: In an electric furnace with gas burner having a water-cooled tubular copper jacket 1, temperature detectors 6 are provided at a plurality of points of the water-cooled jacket 1. Each jacket is arranged at a plurality of points, e.g. three points, on a same circumference on the heat receiving face thereof with temperature detectors 6 at a constant interval and the temperature is indicated in the operating room of electric furnace in order to manage the jacket temperature constantly. When the jacket temperature exceeds 60 deg.C, an abnormal temperature alarm is delivered. |
