摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an anti methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(anti- MRSA) active composition, having anti-MRSA activity, suppressingβ-lactam agent resistance, inducing sensitivity by including apigenin being a flavone derivative contained in Scutellaria barbata D. Don as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: The composition contains apigenin of the formula as an active ingredient. Apigenin is obtained, for example, by extracting Scutellaria barbata D. Don with ethanol, adding an ether to the extract, subjecting the extract to liquid-liquid partitioning extraction, then subjecting the ether extracted fraction to silica gel chromatography and separating and purifying a fraction having antimicrobial activity. Preferably apigenin is used together with aβ-lactam-based antibiotic to enhance antimicrobial actions. For example, methicillin, oxacillin, cephalothin, et., may be cited as theβ-lactam-based antibiotic substance. A flavone derivative such as quercetin, sakuranetin, etc., can be used as the active ingredient for an anti-MRSA active medicine composition.
