Two-seat bench changeable for use in first and second classes and method of changing such a bench

The double second class seat assembly has two cushion bases, two seat backs and two armrests (4). It has a sliding mechanism (5) to allow at least one of the seat backs and one of the armrests to remain aligned with the others through a translational movement (T) which brings the seat backs together and moves the armrests towards each other. The seat assembly also allows the single first class seat assembly to be transformed back into two second class seats.
