PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drain passage of an outboard motor, which is provided with a flood prevention counter-measure preventing water from ingressing in the inside of a cover, and can be surely and simply applied thereto. SOLUTION: In order of discharge water ingressing in the inside of a cover sheathing an engine, the opening 21a of a drain passage 21 is formed by cutting a part of either one of the relative contacting surfaces of two cover bodies 13a and 16 brought face to face with each other, and the opening 21a is to be blocked with a lead valve 22 which permits its free end to be deflected only outwardly, and is connected with a joining part in a shape complementing a recessed part or a projected part formed at its base end with respect to a recessed part or a projected part formed in either one of the relative contacting surfaces of the two cover bodies 13a and 16. By this constitution, since the lead valve 22 is deflected only outward, water ingressing in the inside of the cover can be removed, but water can not ingress in from the outside of the cover. Furthermore, the base ends can be complementarily combined with the recessed part or the projected part formed at the releasing surfaces of the cover bodies 13a and 16, they can thereby be installed extremely with ease. |
