PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated rubber for base isolation with no thread of generating a fall or buckling even when a secondary shape factor is made small so as to obtain a low horizontal stiffness, and that can be used suitable also for the base isolation of lightweight structures. SOLUTION: A rubber body 16 of laminated rubber for base isolation 10 comprises rubber disc plates 18 and steel disc plates 20 alternately laminated in the vertical direction. The diameter of the rubber disc plate 18 is made smaller than the diameter of the steel disc plate 20, and a spacer member 30 that has a sliding surface 32 with a small coefficient of friction is formed in a contour area of the front face of the steel disc plate 20. When a large horizontal shear deformation arises, a vertical amount of compression of the rubber disc plate 18 reaches a predetermined value, and then a vertical load applied to the laminated rubber for base isolation 10 comes to be supported by not only the rubber disc plate 18 but also the spacer member 30. Accordingly, even when the secondary shape factor is made small, there is no threat of generating a fall or buckling. |
