PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture high-purity tetragonal lithium manganate powders suitable to be used as a positive electrode active material of a lithium-ion secondary battery. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of high-purity tetragonal lithium manganate powders comprises the steps of: using lithium hydroxide hydrate powders whose purity is equal or larger than 98%, lithium carbonate powders whose purity is equal or larger than 98%, manganese dioxide powders whose purity is equal or larger than 99%, and carbon black whose purity is equal or larger than 99%, as raw material powders; blending the lithium hydroxide hydrate powders and/or lithium carbonate powders among the raw material powders and the manganese dioxide powders in a rate corresponding to the component composition of the tetragonal lithium manganate powders to be manufactured; blending thereinto, further, the carbon black of 0.2-1.0 wt.% in the whole; press-molding it into a pellet after mixing; and performing a synthesizing process to the pellet under the condition of heating and holding at a predetermined temperature within a range of 650-750 deg.C in inactive gas atmosphere. |
