PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an isomerization process for aromatic compounds of 8 carbon atoms that permits the reduction in the production of the paraffin bearing 8 carbon atoms per molecule and in the production of aromatic hydrocarbons bearing at least 9 carbon atoms, in addition, lowers the production of naphthenes bearing 8 carbon atoms in each molecule, and removes them. SOLUTION: A mixture of the feedstock containing aromatic compounds for isomerization, the hydrogen needed for the reactions, at least one paraffin having 8 carbon atoms per molecule, at least one benzene, at least one toluene, and at least one naphthene having 8 carbon atoms in each molecule, that boils at about 80-135 deg.C, is introduced into the reaction zone. |
