PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cover a spot where an obstacle tends to be present corresponding to a road shape by an obstacle detector and to improve the availability of a navigation device by reading front part road information stored in a storage device from a present position and appropriately changing the detection range of the obstacle detector by a controller. SOLUTION: A sensor 13 for detecting the front part information on an object such as another vehicle and a building is provided and data relating to signals based on the front part information from the sensor 13 are sent through an interface 14 to a CPU 4. The CPU 4 executes the computation of the presence/absence of the obstacle and the direction and distance, etc., of the obstacle based on the data and emits an alarm by display and sound to a driver by a display device 16 installed in a driving seat through a driving circuit 15 as needed. The CPU 4 unitarily manages the navigation device 12 and the obstacle detector 17 and controls the detection range of the obstacle detector 13 by reading the front part road information stored in the storage device 7 from the present position obtained by a GPS receiver 1 further. |
