<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method for exhaust gas in electric furnace which can avoid the composition of dioxin, etc., and does not cause problems in the treated of the substance to be recovered. SOLUTION: The exhaust gas in an electric furnace 1 is led to a combustion tower 2, and after complete combustion of uncombusted components, it is cooled by the cooling water sprayed from a spray nozzle 4 in a cooling tower 3. Sulfate is thrown in from a sulfate input device 5 into the cooling water to be supplied to the spray nozzle 4. These sulfates react upon Cu and Fe in exhaust gas in the cooling tower 3, and produce CuSO4 and FeSO4 , respectively. Therefore, CuCl2 or FeCl3 which becomes a catalyst for Deacon reaction on the first stage of the reaction of dioxin composition comes to extremely low concentration in exhaust gas, so even if the exhaust gas comes to a temperature of 200-500 deg.C where dioxin composition reactions occurs, being cooled in the cooling tower 3, the composition of dioxin is hard to occur.</p> |
