The invention relates to a method for changing a woven fabric, such as a felt or a wire, which forms a closed loop in a paper machine. In the method frame beams R, T on the tending side HP of the paper machine are shifted into a position in which a gap 23 occurs in the frame beams R, through which the woven fabric 14; 17 is changed. In the method frame parts 34, 33 are lifted off from the frame beam R by means of a functional arrangement 21, 36 on to a reel set arrangement 22 and the woven fabric 14, 17 is brought through the slit 23 into the gap of the reel set arrangement 22. In the method the reel set arrangement 22 functions as drawing arrangement for the woven fabric 14; 17 when changing, and after changing the vertical frame beams R are lowered on to support surfaces 31, 32 of the frame parts 34, 33. The invention also relates to an arrangement for changing a woven fabric, such as a felt or a wire, which forms a closed loop in a paper machine. The arrangement is coupled to vertical frame beams R on the tending side HP of the paper machine. The arrangement comprises a functional arrangement 21, 36 for lifting the frame parts 34, 33 up from the frame beam R and a reel set arrangement 22 as drawing arrangement when changing the woven fabric 14; 17. The frame parts 34, 33 of the vertical frame beams R have support surfaces 31, 32 for adjustment of the frame beams R. <IMAGE>
