摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent abrupt injection of water so as to conduct an inspection of an operation condition of a fire hydrant easily by providing a contact part which comes into contact with the water jetting from an opening formed by exposing inner bore passing through a valve element substantially like a ball slightly and reduces force of water in the vicinity of the opening. SOLUTION: When a cap of a fire hydrant is rotated and a valve element 3 turns in the counterclockwise direction, an outer face of the valve element 3 and a valve seat 8a adhere closely and mutually, and inner bore 3a is also shut off. When this valve element 3 is turned by an angleαonly and an end fringe of the outer face of the valve element 3 leaves the valve seat 8a on an upper side, the inner bore 3a of the valve element 3 is partially exposed to form an opening 13 like a narrow slit. At this time, the strongly energized water jets from the opening 13 toward an upper end of a mouthpiece 11. The water comes into contact with a contact part 10d extended from a lower end of a mouthpiece receiver 10 in the vicinity of the opening 13, and a force of the water is reduced. When a degree of opening of the valve element 3 is increased furthermore, the effect of the contact part 10d is reduced, and the water jets without reducing its force.
