Ring gear coupling in planetary gear train (4) which forms part of a vehicle transmission and which incorporates a sun gear (6), a ring gear (10) with internal teeth (12) and planet wheels (14) which are arranged in driving engagement between these gears and are supported by a planet wheel carrier (18). The sun gear (6) is firmly mounted on a main shaft (24) which forms part of the planetary gear train, and the planet wheel carrier (18) is firmly connected to an output shaft (20) from the planetary gear train. The ring gear (10), which is arranged for axial movement relative to the sun gear (10) and a gear housing (30) surrounding the planetary gear train, is provided with external coupling teeth (32) for coupling cooperation with external teeth (34) on a coupling cone (36) which is connected to and for joint rotation with the sun gear, and the number of internal teeth (12) on the ring gear (10) differs from the number of external coupling teeth (32) on same. |
