IDENTIFICATION CARD AND BILLING METHOD WITH AN IDENTIFICATION CARD

Billing method in order to bill a subscriber for a call made with an SIM card(10) identifying a subscriber in a telecommunication network (2). The method comprises the following steps: determining the duration of the call through a time measuring device (100) built into the SIM card (10); evaluating the amount to be billed depending on the detected duration of the call and at least one price list stored in the SIM card. The price lists are stored in a price sever (6) and can be remotely loaded in the SIM card (10) via the abovementioned telecommunication network (2). One advantage is that the data needed to determine the amount to be billed is available in the SIM card so that the subscriber can be billed directly at the source. No additional billing system is required in the infrastructure.
