PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sustain hygienic state while making uniform the temperature in a vegetable case by arranging an antibacterial stainless tray in the vegetable case thereby suppressing proliferation of microofranisms harmful to human body and facilitating cleaning. SOLUTION: A vegetable room 11 is surrounded by a duct section 13 for cooling the inside of a refrigerator, an intermediate partition wall 15, a vegetable room wall 17 and an upper partition 19. A vegetable case 25 is sectioned into a vegetable containing section 39 and a vertical containing section 41 by means of a partitioning member 45. General vegetables are contained in the containing section 39 and low profile vegetables are contained in an upper vegetable case 27. A stainless steel tray 47 is arranged on the bottom face of the containing section 39 over the entire width and depth. Austenite based stainless steel containing copper is employed. Metal ions (copper ions) from the stainless steel bond to cell membrane and damage the cubic structure of bacteria and copper ions reaching into a cell react on enzyme inhibition or DNA to inhibit the function of bacteria. |
