Damped ball bats having a vibration damper positioned within the interior. The damper comprises viscoelastic foam, and is free of constraining layers. The damper has a loss factor of greater than about 0.2 at least somewhere in the frequency range of about 0.3 Hz to about 5 kHz and at least somewhere in the temperature range of about 10 DEG to about 50 DEG C, wherein the diameter of the damper, as measured prior to the compression of the damper, is about 110 to about 160 percent of the diameter of the interior where the damper is positioned. |
