PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the generation of noise at a gear train extending from a crank gear to an injection pump gear. SOLUTION: In a support device for an idle gear 5 interposed between a crank gear and an injection pump gear 6, a positioning protrusion part 10 protruding from a gear shaft 9 in which the idle gear 5 is rotatably fitted is fitted in a positioning hole 12 formed in a gear case 3 to regulate the position of the injection pump gear 6. By regulating the position of the idle gear 5 by the same member as the injection pump gear 6, a backlash between the gears 5 and 6 is regulated to a low value. Even when fluctuation occurs to an injection pump, the generation of noise is reduced.
