PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method and device for supporting personnel placement support and a recording medium in which a personnel placement support program is recorded by which the semioptimum solution of a personnel placement problem in a short time by a genetic algorithm incorporated with a mutation algorithm. SOLUTION: The set for an initial solution is generated at random, the solution high in evaluation value is probabilistically selected, the solution subjected to a cross is calculated at a cross computing section 4, a large-scale change for redeciding all a work start time, a total working hours and a rest taking pattern at random at a mutation computing section 5, a middle-scale change for redeciding the rest taking pattern at random and a small-scale change for partially the redeciding the rest taking pattern are probabilistically selected and executed, a mutation operation is performed and an original solution is replaced with a new solution when the evaluation value of the new solution obtained by the mutation operation is larger than the minimum evaluation value of a set of the original solution.
