<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ATM multi-cast system where the revision of an existing host protocol and an additional device are unnecessitated and a terminal for a multi-cast is managed. SOLUTION: A heart beat is transmitted out for a connection request from a heart beat cell transmission section 17 of respective terminals 111 , 112 , 113 provided with an NIC 15 having a terminal message communication section and the heart beat cell transmission section to a multi-cast path. In an ATM exchange 10 provided with a heart beat cell reception section 12, an exchange message communication section 13 and a ring connection table 14, when the heart beat cell reception section 12 receives the heart beat cell, executes the connection of the multi-cast path based on the stored information in the ring connection table 14. In the constituted multi-cast path, a multi-cast packet is distributed on the ring connection constituted between each of terminal message communication sections 161 , 162 , 163 and the exchange message communication section 13 of the ATM exchange 10.</p> |
