<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reserve an idle band for the connection of a new PVC(permanent virtual connection) by providing an SVC(switched virtual connection) limit band to limit a bond for SVC assignment in the case that PVC and SVC are in existence in mixture in an ATM network. SOLUTION: In the case of making SVC connection by an end system, the end system applies connection to an ATM(asynchronous transfer mode) exchange. The ATM exchange discriminates whether or not a traffic capacity A on request is contained in an idle area B in a transmission channel band, and informs the end system of a connection reject notice when the capacity A is not contained in the idle area B. When the capacity A is able to be contained in the idle area B, the ATM exchange discriminates whether or not the traffic on application request is contained in an idle band C in an SVC limit band. When it is not possible, the ATM exchange informs the end system of connection reject, and when it is possible, the ATM exchange sends connection permission to the end system and then the processing is terminated.</p> |
