PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary offset printer which eliminates wasteful paper or halt time substantially, and is provided with a replaceable form cylinder mounted on a carriage. SOLUTION: A rotary offset printer is provided with a pair of replaceable form cylinders (28, 30 or 32, 34), mounted on a carriage 36. The carriage 36 is attached slidably to the printer and is moved reciprocally along a substantially straight line route. A pair of form cylinders are mounted rotably on the carriage while respective form cylinders can be moved selectively to an operating position, whereat the form cylinder is contacted with a blanket cylinder 22. Accordingly, when the printer is operated employing one of the form cylinders, the other form cylinder is under idling condition whereby an impression sleeve is removed and replaced without stopping the operation of the printer. The form cylinders are contacted with the blanket cylinder at the same contacting point when they are positioned at the operating positions thereof whereby registering is simplified. |
