<p>The present invention pertains to the field of engine construction and can be used in the production of elements for the cooling systems of internal combustion engines. This invention essentially relates to a thermostat which includes a body (1) with two inlet ducts (2, 3) and one outlet duct (4) as well as a thermally sensitive closing unit (5). The closing unit (5) is made in the shape of a hollow cylindrical axle (6) which is rigidly connected to the body (1) and comprises the following members: an inner spring (7); a cylindrical guide (8) concentrically mounted on the axle (6) so as to be capable of reciprocating movement; and a main valve (9) as well as an auxiliary valve (10) which are mounted on the guide (8) and are parallel to each other. A coupler (12) with a slide-bar (13) is mounted between the two valves (9, 10) and is biased by a spring (1) so as to be capable of free displacement. The slide-bar (13) is arranged coaxially relative to the cylindrical axle (6) and the guide (8), while a spring (14) made of a thermo-mechanical shape-memory material is connected to the body (1) by one end and to the coupler (12) by its other end.</p> |
