Information as to status and functionality of an electrical module (34) can be locally obtained via circuitry (32) which sequentially presents in a discernable fashion a coded representation of the characteristic or functionality of interest via e.g. an LED (42). Initiation of the presentation is in response to an externally generated command signal from control switch(es) (44a) or wireless receiver (44b). The sequential output can be viewed directly by an operator (51) or can be sensed by a receiving unit (R1). When sensed by a receiving unit, the sequential presentation can be converted to an alpha numeric display. Parameters can be entered sequentially by means of locally generated input signals. |
