PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect only proper dump information only by issuing a simple dump collection command in response to an error message if an error occurs to a computer system consisting of a main-body side CPU and various process cards. SOLUTION: In the main-body side CPU 101, a control information management table 111 is arranged which stores which of the control part in the main- body side CPU 101 and the control part in a communication card 102 an error occurs to. If the error occurs to any control part, its occurrence is recorded in the control information management table 11 and the error message corresponding to the error is reported from a monitor 104 to an operator 105. When the operator 105 issues the dump gathering command in response to the error message, the monitor 104 specifies the main-body side CPU 101 or communication card 102 where the control part where the error has caused is executed by referring to the control information management table 111 and collects only the dump information corresponding to the control part. |
