The washing machine comprises a reservoir (7) adapted to store the water from an operational cycle or phase to use it again during a subsequent operational cycle or phase, an upper aperture (11) of said reservoir being adapted to communicate with the outside ambient through controlled valve means (12). A diverter (4) is capable of being switched from a resting position and an operational position in which the delivery side (13) of the pump (3) is connected to the drain conduit (5) and an inlet(6) of the reservoir (7), respectively. The reservoir (7) has an outlet communicating with the washing tub or vessel (1) of the machine upstream of the pump (3) through a siphon-like arrangement (8) having a priming level which is higher than a pre-determined maximum filling level (L). <IMAGE> |
