<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of rolling by shortening the total non-rolling time at the time of automatically executing reciprocating rolling of plural passes to the rough rolled stock for wide flange shape using a reversing mill which is composed by combining a rough universal mill with an edger mill. SOLUTION: In a reverse rolling method in which the reciprocating rolling of the plural passes is executed to a rolled stock 15 by automatically repeating rolling, passing through the mill, stopping, starting and biting with the mill after completing mill-setting change in order using the reversing mill 10, the necessary time for changing mill setting and the length of the rolled stock 15 which are changed by the pass schedule of the rolled stock 15 are determined at every pass and, based on the obtained necessary time for changing the mill setting and length of the rolled stock 15, the acceleration/deceleration time or stopping time of the rolled stock 15 from passing through the mill till biting with the mill are controlled at every pass with a control controller 24 so that the total non-rolling time is reduced.</p> |
