The saw blade has a connection (7) for a drive at one end to oscillate the blade (6) in the plane of saw teeth (10) on the opposite end projecting in the direction of insertion (5). The blade is a plate with longitudinal recessed channels (14,14a) on at least one side between the connection and the teeth and is limited by ribs (15) and edges (8) of full plate thickness. The recesses in the blade have a reduced section at the connection end. There may be through holes (16) at the opposite end of the recesses at the edges.
