PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the overlap of color filter layers and black matrix layers and to execute the light shielding between the black matrix layers without using excessive planarization members by effectively utilizing the wiring electrodes used for lowering the internal resistance of the transparent electrodes of a liquid crystal cell. SOLUTION: The one electrode substrate 10 of both electrode substrates 10, 20 interposed with ferroelectric liquid crystals 30 has the plural striped transparent electrodes 23 and the respective wiring electrodes 22 disposed respectively along these transparent electrodes. The respective wiring electrodes 22 have respective apertures corresponding to the respective pixels on the respective transparent electrodes 15 of the other electrode substrate 10 and longitudinal both side wall parts 22b, 22c for shielding the light of the respective regions described above together with the respective black matrix layers overhanging so as to overlap on the respective black matrix layers in a region between both color filter layers existing on both sides of the respective black matrix layers 13. |
