PLASTIC/CERAMIC COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

A composite material comprising a plastic matrix and ceramic particles dispersed therein. The plastic is preferably a thermoplastic resin and the content of the ceramic particles ranges from 60 %to 99 % by volume. This material can be molded to have an arbitrary configuration readily at a low cost and has a small coefficient of thermal expansion, a satisfactory wear resistance and a high modulus of elasticity.
