The endoprosthesis consists of a tube made from at least one type of solid and non-reinforced polyurethane, having a wall thickness of 0.1 - 1.5 mm, (preferably 0.3 and 1.5 mm). It has a middle section (2) comprising at least 30 per cent of its length and having a constant wall thickness, and two end sections (1, 3) of up to 35 per cent of the length each, having a decreasing wall thickness to give them extra flexibility. The polyurethane used to make the tube has a tear resistance above 35 Nm and a Shore A hardness of over 80 at 23 deg C. It also contains metal markers to show up on X-ray plates.
