PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the texture mapping performance and to reduce the board space, by performing the texture mapping of the 1st area of a geometric primitive according to the 1st part of a texture map stored in a texture memory cache. SOLUTION: Data where the 1st area of the geometric primitive is described is received and the 1st part of the texture map corresponding to the 1st area is received in the texture memory cache. Then, the texture mapping of the 1st area of the geometric primitive is performed according to the 1st part of the texture map stored in the texture memory cache. The computer system performs texture mapping for a polygon specified by a graphics application program executed on a host computer 102, which sends a subpolygon to the graphics accelerator 112. |
