PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink for ink-jet recording which inhibits deleterious effects on the fluid characteristics of the ink caused by the ink cartridge equipped with an ink absorber and offers a stable printing quality. SOLUTION: In an ink for ink-jet recording which is used to fill the ink absorber included in the ink cartridge, the difference between the viscosity of the ink unit and the viscosity of the ink filled in the ink absorber is within 10% of the viscosity of the ink unit. The ink contains a colorant, a wetting agent and an anionic surfactant.
