A finger-operated air inlet valve in the cushion case nozzle allows air to be supplied for inflation without having to disconnect the vacuum pump first. Loose filling is provided inside the gas-tight cushion case (4). A nozzle (18) protruding from the outside of the case is used to connect the cushion (2) to a vacuum pump (16) and to supply air to inflate it. A finger-operated air inlet valve (52) in the nozzle allows surrounding air to flow through the valve and into the cushion when activated, without having to disconnect the vacuum pump from the nozzle.
