PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily assemble a shielded electric connector and effectively protect it against electromagnetic wave interference, by arranging an insulating housing prepared with a contact mounting member in a shield which is composed of a front wall provided with an insertion hole, both side walls provided with conductive latches, a top wall, and a rear wall. SOLUTION: This connector is provided with a conductive shield 50 which is composed of a front wall 51 formed by blanking a metal plate, folding it, and providing with an insertion hole 511 extending from a top wall 52, side walls 54 integrally provided with elastic latches inside thereof, and a rear wall 53. A housing 40 made of an insulating member prepared with a contact mounting member 45 is arranged in the shield, and a flange 512 of the front wall 51 and fixing pieces 551 extending from the side walls 54 are bent inward, then the shield 50 is fixed. Thus obtained connector is mounted on the circuit board through a mounting leg part 57, and electrically connected to by contacts 60, 62. Further, the other contact is inserted from the insertion hole 511 and is coupled with the contact mounting member 45, then the shield and the shield 50 are grounded through the conductive elastic latches, and are locked. |
