PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a (co)polymer dispersion, excellent in preservation stability for a long period and useful as a polymeric flocculant or the like by applying (co) polymerizing operations to an aqueous solution of a monomer containing (meth)acrylic acid and depositing a (co)polymer, produced by the (co)polymerization and insoluble in the aqueous solution as fine particles. SOLUTION: This polymer dispersion comprises a dispersion obtained by applying (co)polymerizing operations to an aqueous solution of a monomer containing (meth) acrylic acid and depositing a (co)polymer, produced by the (co)polymerization and insoluble in the aqueous solution as fine particles. The (co)polymer dispersion has properties of providing >=5 wt.% concentration of the (meth)acrylic acid (co)polymer in the (co)polymer dispersion, 1-100μm average particle diameter of the particles, 30-5,000 cP viscosity thereof and the observed (co)polymer particles when magnifying a liquid in a state thereof diluted 10 times with distilled water under a microscope 400 times and observing the liquid and dissolving and converting the (co)polymer particles into an aqueous solution when adding an alkali to the diluted solution and regulating the pH to 7.0. The (co)polymer dispersion is preferably produced by carrying out the deposition polymerization in the coexistence of a dispersibility retaining agent such as an alkyl group adduct to a polyethylene polyamine. |
