FIELD: grinding and polishing equipment. SUBSTANCE: grinding wheel includes carrying body of rigid material that may be divided by two portions 1A, 1B along equatorial plane. Wheel also includes inner block 2,3 suitable for joining with shaft of electric motor for driving wheel and outer block 4 congruent with contour of ground and(or) polished material. At least one flange 5,6 of one and(or) other end of carrying body is designed for holding and arranging covering 12 of elastomeric material applied by injection molding or cured on body. Portion 13 of covering 12 of elastomeric material turned to ground blank is covered by members 14 of relatively flexible abrasive material. That is why the whole contour in general corresponds to final shape of blank after grinding or polishing it. EFFECT: precision grinding of rigid materials. 6 cl, 4 dwg
