PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the data amount of route information which a fixed station transfers to a route guidance equipment, by a method wherein, when a route guidance equipment approaches a guidance point immediately in front of a present position, the equipment reads text information corresponding to a text ID for the guidance point from a storage means, and vocally inform the text information. SOLUTION: A route information forming means in a fixed station determines a route from a starting place to a destination and transfers the route, as route information to a route guidance equipment 1, which saves the route information. Text information corresponding to a text ID to a guidance point immediately in front of a present position on the route which the route information shows is read from a storage means CDR, and vocally informed via announcing apparatuses SPs 10, 11. Text information of a large data amount is stored in the storage means CDR of the route guidance equipment 1, and the text ID designating the text information is transmitted to the route guidance equipment 1 from a fixed station, so that the transfer data amount (the data amount of route information) between the fixed station and the route guidance equipment 1 is extremely small. |
