The decoration of glasses, enamels and ceramics involves the selection of a mixture of vitreous materials and organic materials which are shaped roughly into a simple form in order to obtain, by an appropriate heating, some perfectly spherical pearls which are fixed solidly onto the object to be decorated The heating used in this process varies with the materials used. For glass the temperature used would be 500 deg C whilst for porcelain it would be 1250 deg C. |
