PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the conversion efficiency of a solar battery by actively washing away contaminants from the external surface of glass by providing wipers which clean the external surface of the glass and a device which jets a cleaning solution upon the external surface of the glass. SOLUTION: Wipers 2a and 2b which respectively make sectoral motions around shafts 3a and 3b remove dusts, contaminants, etc., adhering to the transparent external surface of a solar battery 1. When the wipers 2a and 2b clean the external surface of the battery 1, finer dusts are moved up and removed with the wipers 2a and 2b by jetting a cleaning solution upon the external surface from a jet exit 4. In addition, a plurality of U-shaped belt-like plates 5 are arranged in parallel with each other in one direction on the external surface so as to eliminate reflected light. Therefore, when sun's rays are made incident to the solar battery 1 during day time in which the elevation angle to the sun is high, namely, the sun's rays are strongest, reflected light rays from the battery 1 are not reflected outward, but again made incident to the battery 1 and increase the conversion efficiency of the battery 1. |
