PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display detailed and wide area maps in a two screen display mode so as to easily understand the relationship between the maps by indicating the display range of the detailed map on the wide area map employing a frame and moving the frame on the wide area map in accordance with a scroll operation. SOLUTION: A present position is computed (S11) and if a present position switch is operated (S12), the map, which is centered at the present position, is displayed on a right screen and the map having no frame is displayed on a left screen (S13). If the present position switch is not operated, no cursor operation is conducted (S14). If the map centered at the present position is shown on the right screen (S15), the map is displayed as is on the right screen (S16). If there exists a cursor operation, the map, which is moved equivalent to the cursor operation, is displayed on the right screen (S17). If the left screen displays the map, which covers a wider area than the right screen (S18), the map display range of the right screen is converted to the coordinates of the map display of the left screen (S19). If the frame is located within the display range of the left screen (S20), the frame is plotted on the left screen (S21). |
