The circulation device has connections (6a,6b) for the injection equipment (3,4) and a supply input (12), which is connected with the outlet of a homogenisation device (13), by which a fuel-water emulsion can be produced and has inputs (17,15) for fuel and water. These inputs are connected to feed conduits (16,14) provided with cut-off devices (24,23). The circulation device (5,7) has a measurement device (27) which assesses the composition of the through-flowing fuel-water emulsion. This device forms the measurement member of a control device (26), using which the at least one input of the homogenisation device cut-off components (22-24) is switchable dependent upon the composition of the fuel-water emulsion flowing through the circulation device.
