PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a equipment for measuring the electric characteristics of an organic compound molecule by forming a single molecule film where organic compound unit molecules are arranged at micron size or nano meter size and connecting the molecule and an electrode easily and surely. SOLUTION: After unit molecules of a self-organization organic compound are arranged selectively on a specified cleavage plane of a semiconductor substrate having quantum well heterostructure or while bonding the unit molecules of a self-organization organic compound selectively to a specified cleavage plane of a semiconductor substrate having quantum well heterostructure in a nonoxidative atmosphere, a voltage is applied in the longitudinal direction of the molecule or perpendicularly thereto thus measuring the electric characteristics of the organic compound molecule. The measuring equipment comprises a semiconductor substrate having quantum well heterostructure, a single molecule film of a self-organization organic compound formed by arranging unit molecules at nano meter size on a specified plane thereof, and a pair of electrodes provided across the opposite ends of unit molecules arranged in the longitudinal direction of the molecule or perpendicularly thereto.
