PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the abrasion of a photoreceptive drum by realizing initialization of a driver when a power supply is turned on at a low cost, and setting the initial rotation time for the motor of a printer, when the power supply is turned on at a minimum required time. SOLUTION: When the power supply to a printer is turned on, a microcomputer 15 turns off a motor 24 after the motor 24 has been turned on for a specified time and discriminates abnormality when/MTRRDY signal of a driver 23 does not indicate 'not-ready'. At the time of 'not-ready', the motor 24 is turned on again. When/MTRRDY signal does not indicate 'ready', abnormality is discriminated. Furthermore, how many paper feeding devices are connected to is detected. An engine control part 2 controls the initial rotation time of the main motor 24 in correspondence with the number of the paper feeding devices. |
