PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate the inspection of the tip or the nozzle and standardize the good/bad judging standard by comparing the condition of the flame and the like obtained from the image signal with the standard and the tolerance. The flame or the plasma arc of the gas tip or the plasma nozzle is picked up by a CCD camera. SOLUTION: A fuel gas and a support fuel gas are supplied from a tip 1 of a gas cutting torch 2 to form the flame 3 consisting of a white spot 3a and a secondary flame 3b, and a cutting oxygen flow 4 is supplied to form an incandescence part 4a. The flame 3 is picked up at the white spot 3a by one or plural CCD cameras installed at an equal interval and rotating around the tip 1. The brightness level of the image signal with plural steps is multiple threshold treated so as to decide the frame coordinate of the flame 3. The condition of the flame is calculated from the frame coordinate, and comparison- calculated with a given standard or tolerance, or the frame coordinate is pattern recognition treated by a neutral network to judge the good/bad of the tip 1. |
